Let us tell you that, according to a report in The Indian Express, Somdev Devvarman and Purav Raja have made allegations by making the Central Government their party. He says that the Sports Ministry never tried to know whether AITA was complying with the Sports Code or not. He has accused the ministry of turning a blind eye. In a petition filed in the Delhi High Court on Monday, both the players have alleged that AITA has violated several provisions of the Sports Code.
Both the tennis greats say that there is no seat for athletes in the Central Council of AITA. Furthermore, there is also no mechanism for athletes to elect eminent players with outstanding qualifications to represent them in the Central Council. It has also been said that there is no reservation of seats for athletes in the Executive Committee and there is no system to elect athletes from the Central Council to the Executive Committee.
